2004-02-16 - 08:45 A moment of bringing all to a personal level for Me and not being about anyone else: "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broad-side, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW-- What a Ride!!!" While I enjoy the humour in that I don't totally agree with that. 'Specially not after last month my Pa being in and out of the hospital in great pain and getting surgery for a situation which was totally preventable if he'd taken better care of himself. And with so many loved ones with HIV and other preventable situations (I've never had a fuck so good it was worth dying for). I am taking such good care of my body now (and spirit and mind in balance). At 31 I now have the opportunity to keep all 3 in as good of health as is preventable. I don't want to end up in a hospital bed for something that was preventable by my choices...So, no snowboarding, much less junk food, plenty of exercise, etc etc... I'm surprised that that quote got me going like this. I rec'd it via e-mail from my older sister this morning and it just spurred me to write. Now I'm going to drink some delicious tea and ponder it some more.
