2004-01-17 - 17:05 Some of the greatest benefits of the fasting cleanse my housemates and I have been doing together are some new delicious recipes we've been making up and chowing down on. (It's not a starve-yourself one...eat as much as you want of certain foods each day) -baked apples & pears develop their own caramel-y syrup when baked w/out sweetners -sweet potatoes (especially the purple ones) sliced thinly and baked at 350 for quite a while make good 'chips' to scoop guacamole -make-your-own-V8....wow yum I've never loved veggies so much! -cubed baked veggies w/no seasonings like beets, yams, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, onions, carrots (okay everything tastes amazing when you do not consume 'quick energy' and hard to digest stuff like pringles, McD's, chocolate and other old comfort foods (also drinking a lot of fluids with your food slows & complicates digestion...and drinking aloe vera/papaya juice a while before eating helps digestion. -AND OH YUM falafel mix from Rainbow with Annie's Goddess Dressing on it -and granola with vanilla soy yogurt is heavenly-tea combos w/rose hips and flax seed and other stuff that's both yummy and super good for you! (NYE I proclaimed that 2004 is my year to be a tea whore) -most of all it's working together on positive healthy projects with loved ones, and taking good care of ourselves :-) anywho...it just feels g-o-o-d.
